FRANKFURT – The Deutsche Börse Group has reached an agreement with the Hochiminh Stock Exchange to cooperate on development of securities markets in Vietnam and Germany, and to explore bilateral business opportunities.

“Our agreement marks an important step in further strengthening the already mutually beneficial relations between the German and Vietnamese capital markets,” says Reto Francioni, Chief Executive Officer of Deutsche Börse.

The Deutsche Börse Group and the Hochiminh Stock Exchange plan to discuss and analyze business possibilities in cross-border trading, and listing and creating indices.

“The agreed cooperation between Deutsche Börse and Hochiminh Stock Exchange will foster the friendly ties between the two exchanges which have been established over the past few years,” says Nguyen Doan Hung, Chairman of the Hochiminh Stock Exchange.

The Deutsche Börse Group has been active in several Asian countries. As a first step with the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, the parties will begin training measures to foster understanding among them about the financial markets in Vietnam, other Asian regions and Germany.
