SIX X-CLEAR EXPANDS OPERATIONS AND DEVELOPS INTEROPERABILITY PLANS

ZURICH – SIX x-clear Ltd. is expanding its operations with a new Stockholm office and new executive appointment.

The company has named Ann Flodström, a highly regarded clearing expert, as Head of Nordic Region. SIX x-clear Ltd. plans to clear transactions as a central counterparty (CCP) for Nasdaq OMX exchanges in Denmark, Finland and Sweden beginning in January 2010.

In her role, Flodström will primarily focus on strengthening client relationships and supporting entities involved in clearing. “We are pleased to deliver on our promise to the Scandinavian market and are delighted to have found in Ann Flodström a highly qualified and proven expert with whom we can forge ahead,” says Marco Strimer, Chief Executive Officer of SIX x-clear.

SIX x-clear advocates “competitive clearing,” and is taking steps toward pan-European interoperability between CCPs. The company also plans to implement links for prominent multi-lateral trading systems and regulated exchanges including Chi-X, BATS, Nasdaq Europe, Liquidnet, Turquoise, Equiduct and Secfinex.
