LUXEMBOURG – Clearstream Banking SA has joined the EMX Message System, operated by electronic messaging solution provider EMXCo, as a consolidator, having gone live on the system on August 11.

As a result of the link to EMX, Clearstream’s Vestima+ service for investment funds will be able to facilitate straight-through processing (STP) of their offshore clients into the UK marketplace.

“Combined with the integrated custody and settlement offering of Clearstream, it will offer a full STP ordering and settlement solution for UK domestic investment funds to all Clearstream clients,” says Philippe Seyll, Director, Investment Funds, Clearstream.

The EMX Message System has grown to handle over 11 million messages during the first half of 2008, an increase of more than 20 percent over the first half of 2007.

“Since opening our Luxembourg office in 2004, our cross border business has

continued to grow,” says Jane Sidnell, Head of Continental Europe at EMXCo. “To see further major non-UK institutions joining up to use our market infrastructure demonstrates the power of our offering.”
